Gulf Breeze - Practical Information
Local affectionately refer to City of Gulf Breeze as "Gulf Breeze Proper" or the "Downtown". While Florida developers are trying to create traditional neighborhood wannabees, the genuine article is right here in Gulf Breeze. A quiet community situated between Pensacola and Pensacola Beach, Gulf Breeze is a community that offers most of life's amenities within walking or biking distance - including terrific schools, churches, parks, hospital, post office, library, dining, shops, grocery store - not to mention a boat launch.
Business owners can easily find affordable office space minutes from their Gulf Breeze homes. Gulf Breeze was developed in the 50's, 60's and 70's. Most of the lots are quite large and are filled with mature oak and other trees. From the secluded winding streets, it isn't obvious that many homes face the Sound or Pensacola Bay. Best of all, many Gulf Breeze homesites are situated on higher elevations. Gulf Breeze Proper homes range from $00,000 for smaller 1960's ranch-style homes to over $1,000,000 for waterfront estates.
	Recreation Gulf Breeze is an incorporated City, located in the south end of Santa Rosa County. The economic level of its residents is high. The community is surrounded by water on three sides. The irregular shoreline provides for an abundance of waterfront properties. Of course water sports are an important recreation in the area. The town has a number of businesses that support the most popular watersports - surfing, fishing, water-skiing, sailing and diving.
The city also has a very active youth sports association. Almost half the land within the city limits is devoted to parks and playgrounds - baseball and softball fields, soccer fields, lighted tennis courts, a community recreation center, and a football stadium. Recently, Gulf Breeze broke ground for a multi-use trail. When completed, the trail will complete a 40-mile loop through Navarre, Navarre Beach and Pensacola Beach.
Schools Gulf Breeze Proper includes three schools - Gulf Breeze Elementary, Gulf Breeze Middle and Gulf Breeze High School. These schools consistently score well above state and national averages on all standardized examinations and have earned "Five Star School Awards" repeatedly. They are all recipients of the "Golden School Award" for volunteer hours and enjoy the distinction of being "Red Carpet"Schools" which means they are community and parent friendly. The City has its own Police Department as well as a volunteer fire department. Gulf Breeze is also very proud of its award winning hospital - Gulf Breeze Hospital.
